Fall 2010

My how time has flown! I have to say that I certainly lost track of time once more! There is so much to do with getting a child off to college that I am in need of another vacation!

Speaking of vacations I do hope that everyone had a wonderfully restful, restorative and relaxing summer filled with fun, friends and great travel. The days flew by and now that they are behind me I am finding a long list of to-do’s facing me that I sorely neglected while focusing on more important things. Don’t we all do just this?

How are you going to tidy up your life this fall? Do you need to sort and purge? Does your life need some structure and purpose? Do you feel dedicating yourself to a new exercise regime, meditation practice or diet are in order this month?

Each of us has let a little something once important to us fall by the wayside just a bit while we relax and laze by the pool. Listed in this edition of Season to Season are some resources and ideas to help us all regain clarity to our purpose for the fall. Enjoy your efforts while you also enjoy some Indian Summer days and if you have children, the sense of organization that comes from a routine and a quiet home.

Creatively yours,

1. Thigh high boots...if you dare! I did...and love ’em!
2. Animal prints all over.
3. Chains...lots of them.
4. Textures in everything, clothing, tights, bags.
5. Stella and Dot jewelry...just have to say the fall line is even better than the spring if that's possible! Call me!
6. Plaids are everywhere again, very 80’s.

Decorate to your hearts’ content! Add items to your home that represent what you are passionate about. Great works of art, photography, family black and whites. Lots of plants, natural fibers in everything and cool, subdued and soothing color. Get organized using baskets, bins and containers to declutter your space and also to find things you need at your fingertips. European inspired pieces or collectibles from travels abroad add spice and character.

Visit www.terracycle.net, they collect (and ship free of charge) foil juice pouches for recycling. Gaiam Catalog has auto reorder for all your 7th Generation cleaning products, I absolutely love this line. You can purchase much of the line at Target as well but autoship...how easy is that? Another good find, artist portfolios are great for storing your students prized artwork, stash it right under their beds. Visit mythirtyone.com/deforrest for fun styles of totes, lunch boxes and storage containers for you and your kids.
